The outstanding feature which differentiates Termokimik condensate polishing systems, mainly installed in fossil and nuclear power plants, is their exceptional ability to provide extra pure condensate and to operate at extremely high design pressures.
Termokimik has traditionally played a leading role in Italy in this market segment, having actively contributed to the development of this important sector by providing highly sophisticated and technologically advanced systems.

Today, Termokimik condensate polishing systems, utilising the different technologies available to the Company (DEEP BED: SEPREX (R), SEPRAEIGHT II (R), SEPRAEIGHT III (R), THREE DIMENSIONAL SEPARATION PROCESS, POWDEX (R), WP, ELECTROMAGNETIC FILTERS) are successfully operating in over 100 power stations all over the world, to the complete satisfaction of users.

Thanks to the exclusive external regeneration facilities, the Deep Bed systems ensure condensate purity values that meet the extremely severe specifications imposed by the manufacturers of supercritical boilers.
The last generation technologies (SEPRAEIGHT II and III (R)), thanks to the adoption of exclusive and innovative resin transport and external regeneration facilities, ensure transfer efficiencies equal to 99.9% and a fouling degree of the anion resin with cationic resin fines smaller than 0.1%.
The resulting performances (sodium=0.2 to 0.5 ppb; silica=2 to 5 ppb, acid conductivity=0.06 µS/cm) are excellent.

POWDEX filters, which are precoated with powdered POWDEX ion exchange resins, have proven their exceptional efficiency in the removal of both suspended solids and dissolved substances by ion exchange, with low pressure drops and high operating temperatures.
The possibility to select the right blend of precoat resins for each specific requirement is a further advantage of major significance.
The resins processed and supplied by the Division are fully regenerated and of uniform quality, to assure the best results at all times.

WP filter elements are designed for use in condensate polishing applications operating without a precoat layer. WP filter elements can be backwashed repeatedly to maintain their original efficiency, are rugged, long-lasting and can be used for extended periods at high temperatures and pressures.
The WP filters' all-thermoplastic construction facilitates their disposal by crushing and/or incineration.

Finally, electro-magnetic filters represent, in particular applications, the most rational solution for curbing operating costs. In nuclear power stations they in fact allow to remove the ion oxides from condensate with very reduced volumes of radwaste, whilst in the pulp and paper industry they are the perfect tool for the removal of the significant quantities of iron oxides generated by the steam cycle during the paper production process.
