Termokimik makes available to users its extensive experience and an ample choice of equipment for the treatment of surface and non-surface water for industrial and municipal use.
A wide range of clarification and filtration processes can be applied to remove suspended solids and to modify colour, hardness, odour and taste.
The company designs and manufactures different clarification systems, from the simpler settling basins to the more sophisticated flotation units for the removal of light and fibrous solids and greasy or oily substances, up to the clariflocculators especially designed to allow fast and intimate mixing of chemicals and raw water to form easily settling precipitates by highly efficient coagulation and internal sludge recirculation. All these systems avail themselves of a wide spectrum of chemical reagents (including metallic salts such as alum, ferric chloride or alum polychloride, in association with polyelectrolytes) for the removal of turbidity, suspended solids and colour, whilst lime, caustic soda and magnesium oxide will remove hardness and silica.
A wide range of filters, from the gravity designs both of the conventional and self-cleaning types (i.e.: provided with a special sequence for backwashing without need for dedicated pumps) as well as continuous cleaning types, to the pressure filters (both vertical and horizontal) is used to further improve the quality of the clarified effluents.
Different filtering materials such as sand (of selected particle size), dual-media beds (sand and anthracite), multi-media beds or special media such as activated carbon are employed to remove oils, hydrocarbons and organic matters in general, whilst zeolites are used to remove iron and manganese in particular.
In those cases where colloidal substances alone must be removed, a valid alternative to the conventional treatment systems (clarification and/or filtration) is given by ultrafiltration membrane processes which, not requiring the use of chemical reactants, reduce the quantity of the resulting sludge.
Finally special filters incorporating backwashable cartridges (featuring long life and high performance) are available for a most efficient reduction of turbidity and colloids.
